Zuichoh (瑞兆) is a board game CD-ROM that had been announced for the Pippin Atmark,[1] with gameplay based on Japanese Mahjong.[2] The Japanese title translates to "good omen".
Release history[]
Zuichoh was developed by C-lab. Co., Ltd. (株式会社 シー・ラボ) and originally released Japan on May 25, 1991 by Ex-cel as a black & white game for Macintosh.[3] Each victory by the player was rewarded with the gradual unveiling of a scenic image.[2]
A color version was released in 1993 as Zuichoh Funcy (瑞兆 ファンシー),(sic) a phoenetic mistranslation of "Fancy". This version received attention because of revealing images of anime-style characters.[2][4]
A color CD-ROM version with the original gameplay and title was released for Windows 3.1/95 by Imagineer.[2][5]
A Pippin version had been scheduled for Fall 1996,[1] but was never released.[6]
